Choosing "yes" will fail, and Winhiip will report that the drive does not have a valid PS2 structure anymore and all the games will be missing from the list sometimes it leaves one or two of them up.
Trying to restore the PS2 drive structure does nothing to fix the situation. So, firstly, is there a more modern method of dumping games to HDD that I don't know about and should be using? Have you encountered errors, with PS2 software?
Perhaps, your USB enclosure has some problem? Obviously, I cannot determine that for sure, from right here. However, I noticed that filesystem checks with chkdsk would oddly always report some errors.
That might have been a similar problem. Or perhaps not. Originally Posted by wmxp. Running Winhiip on that computer works absolutely flawless, despite the inconvenience of having to open up the computer each time I want to swap a HDD in and out. I think that definitively proves that my USB enclosure was the problem. Originally Posted by Luizcm. I found this diagram, does it work? However, this does not have a perfect compatibility rate. But again, the software must support VGA output. I guess, CSync is Composite Sync. It's a signal within composite video, but it is not used in VGA. There is "Sync on Green" or SoG, which is the vertical-synchronization signal embedded within the green channel. Otherwise, you will have to either make your own cable that has a sync-stripper i. LM or to perform some hardware mod to your PS2 for older models that will allow you to tap onto the sync outputs.
Even if you used GSM, the internal resolution of the game remains the same. Originally Posted by spiderman. Sometimes you can play a level or two but it always freezes eventually. Are the people who report it working not playing long enough to see it freeze? I've had problems with it since HDLoader. Is it fried up or something? Good news: PS2 faulty problem solved, nothing seems to be bad as I previously stated. Just this: PS start's up fine, reads disks, everything seems to be normal. PSU board? It could be, Phat is quite old. He got it from his cousin who lives in U. Can it be working again?

I recently bought a ebay memory card off ebay and it had a hdloader I haven't seen before. Is that the latest or is 0. I suppose bigger drives than 2TB would be hard to accomplish, if even possible software-wise The problem is that you'll need to come up with your own method of allocating space - APA was not designed for such large disks. Not to mention that 2TB is a lot of space.
I can't imagine anyone who would actually own 2TB of content. I don't know whether OPL was updated for that. The only risk should be when they try to allocate space at the very end of the disk i. My programs that were updated in December should also support large disks.
PFS isn't affected because it is a bit filesystem. It's indirectly related to the space taken up, but it should be the number of partitions on the disk that actually cause the design limitation to become a problem. Thus we could extend it to 16TB Actually, I have more original PS2-games, than the year has days. Well, I suppose those programs which do not list all partitions, but are merely accessing a predefined partition if found within the supported 'ratio', are fine with it However I think some those which scan the whole disc , might run into troubles Quite good idea!
However the implementation should be as minimal as possible in regards, to hardware No, just 1. I just found a psp with firmware 6. It has a 32GB card in it. Just wondering what is the latest custom firmware? Is that it? This will let me play backup iso's of games right? I gotta find out how to play some emulators to. It will let me right. Back in the day you needed a pandora battery.
It seems like you don't need one anymore am I correct. I won't have problems with newer games like ps portable 2. Originally Posted by Clockbuster. Oh, it's the apps folder? I thought it was in boot. If there's this horrible, loud grinding noise being made whenever it reads copied discs, perhaps it isn't getting a proper grip on the disc. First, I wanted to see if a 30k would fit into a 50k's case because I like my silver case, and they do, though the firewire port is a bit of a pain and the case needs a few modifications to the internal support plastics.
Second, I wanted to see if the power supplies were interchangeable, it appears they are electrically compatible I did some probing with the a multimeter to confirm and if you swap over the metal bracket that supports the motherboard they will probably be mechanically compatible too, just the 50k has shorter terminals so it would be a case of making sure there is sufficient contact there should be but I didn't really test this.
Third, I wanted to see if the lasers were interchangeable, and they are, or at least the entire drive assembly, minus the shell which has the built in buttons on the 50k is. I swapped the assembly and the 50k worked perfectly with the 30k's laser, all the problems were fixed.
Did you try using composite cables? If the previous owner had it left on RGB mode, then you will not get any video via component. Some TVs will not output audio either, if there is no video signal. Are your discs clean and free of disc rot? You could try to clean the lens with alcohol. Also, you can try turning on the diagnosis option in the browser, before inserting your disc. You may want to determine if you can solve the problems that the SCPH series has. It would be more perfect than modding.
If you have the technical skills, you can try to swap the optical blocks. It'll be easier if the two use the same optical block type i.
The current supplied may be different too. If they were compatible, then I don't see why they would need to re-design this.

All up: thank you for the help! This entire affair has been pretty inexplicable in my opinion, seems the PS2 is a fickle little device Multi-LUN devices i. That also probably means that card readers with multiple interfaces should be out.
There is no logical way to know which LUN is the storage device that you want to use. Devices with multiple partitions are also not supported. If there are multiple partitions, then the first supported partition is mounted, regardless of whether it is the right one or not.
Again, there is no logical way to know which one is the correct partition. So if you're using a device with a system partition like the Sandisk U3, you may want to either use a different device or to get rid of that partition either with the manufacturer's tool or via the partition manager in your OS.
Depending on the card-reader it is incompatible, or only shows one mass-storage-device the one first plugged into or detected or it shows all of them, as mass:, mass1:, mass2:, etc. So some of those actually work quite good! I am not sure, but quite far in the back of my head I have some memory, that someone was working on multi-partition-support.
But I am not entirely sure about it anymore, because it is quiiiite some time ago Those newer SanDisks however even seem to work with U3 still in place If it works, that is great for you. But it is a fact that the first mountable partition will take the place of "mass:" or "mass0:", which will be accessed by OPL. That incompatibility list isn't much a surprise in my opinion as there's only so much you can do with something, and the current loader is beyond my wildest dreams actually.
But if you're wondering about optimizing access in general, yes However, that would be at the expense of internal fragmentation, as the smallest possible file size on disk would be the size of your cluster i. I know it's slow but it's about the best option for development of a portable device - I should make a point to experiment with cluster size at some stage and see if I can get back to you with tangible numbers, but I'd put money down on it not making a significant difference.
The link to 'theisozone' also has some instructions in it, to easily update FHDB to the most current version using the installer will break BB.
It should, but some are incompatible. Try it! There can be different revisions of it, but mine works quite well. Does it have GameStar on the sticker, then a logo on the outer plastic and one writing in the metal?
Yepp, it has the same case, but still could be a different revision. Anyway, you should be good with it. Shipping was free in my case Originally Posted by Beretta0. Tried to burn it again, tried to change to another game So I tried launching ESR from the fmc menu, but all i get is a purple screen.

Now let's see if that was the problem Yes, that's right. On a side-note Thanks for clarifying that. I totally forgot to answer that THX SP! I installed the noobie package. Anyway, since those dvds are not seen as ps2 games by the ESR GUI, the problem must be in the burning process as you said, right? Does it still show the 'DVD Player not set up'-message? I think it is yes, but it also could be an image-problem Use IMGBurn for reading and writing Write with AWS Ok i tried with AWS speed and imgburn It goes back to FMB menu without loading anything.
ESR purple screen. Tried with the laptop burner and ESRpatcher pro, same problem. I'm running out of ideas and dvds verbatim will probably send a "thank you" card to my home :D. You mean that FMCB 1. Thanks for all your tests. I really don't like the idea that v1. I mean, we don't actually know the problem Could you please tell us where you stored ESR?
Is your console modded? The 30s delay should be caused by your console. With fmcb 1. I found a solution! I managed to install FMC 1. So, for whom has my same problem: install 1.
Thank you jolek and TnA for helping me out! I'm now trying with my desktop's and they seem to work With 1. On all PS2 everything was fine.
