Serial, parallel, IDE, floppy, etc. When I first installed the system, I had a brief scare with the mobo not recognizing memory in the second slot.
However, after I reseated the CPU, this went away. The mem controller is on the CPU on a I7. Just be aware, if you have this issue, you might solve it with a reseat, and the mobo could be just fine. With the massive of connections on an I7, I suspect this is not a rare thing. Motherboard looks sleek with nice heatsinks 2.
The instructions that come with the mobo are very adequate, have nice drawings, and explain things thoroughly. Booted up right away and OC utility was easy to use 4. Cons: I'm using Windows 7, so some of the drivers on the CD weren't compatible. Just go to EVGA's website and download the compatible ones.
Pros: Fantastic board. No problems with booting up the first time. Temperature displays correctly with the on-board temp. I probably should update the BIOS, so it's not a real con. Overall Review: If you're looking for a simple gaming rig, this is for you. Cons: Not really a con to affect ratings, but seems slow to boot up and does not support Ms Bit Locker that I was planning on trying with Win7 ultimate.
Pros: I have a OC'd to 4. There is a review online that has a guy OC'ing a to 4. Make sure that your case has that extra slot for the last card's second slot or else you'll be forced to run the third card at x4 PCIe rather the x8 offered by the last slot. Overall Review: This is my first i7 motherboard and I installed the 3 memory dimms in the wrong slots and the PC wouldn't even post, I was worried for about ten minutes before I examined the huge sticker that is on the dimm slots.
I am running water cooling on my s so the last slot was not a big deal since the water blocks make the cards essentially a single slot cooler.
I switched out the dual slot retainer bracket that holds the card to the case with the retainer from a fried gt. Pros: Works great, and even looks nice. I honestly don't know what the advantage is over using EasyBeast. Click to expand I applied the DSDT on my rig that is almost the same as yours, everything is just working great.
The only problem I can't solve is USB ports don't work after sleep mode. After waking up, USB ports are all unable to recognise any usb devices. Could you please help me out?
Sorry for my bad English. I have Mnt. The system is overclocked to 4. Sleep works, power management works, speedstep, no orange icons, DVD player, etc. I installed the kexts with KextUtility. Pros: Great board all around but the one thing that sets this board apart from those made by other manufacturers is the customer service.
I recently purchased all the parts to build a new system from scratch. Included is this MB and the vid card. Before buying it I asked around for advice on a good configuration of parts then I called EVGA and asked them a few questions.
Reminds me of Miracle on 34th street where Santa put the shopper ahead of the company and subsequently the comapny prospered. When I got the parts there was a cable problem with the power supply hooking to the motherboard. I've never seen customer service like EVGA gives. They'll always have my business.
It might have been possible to push it further, but I wanted to err on the safe side. I'd have preferred vertical ones, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. I had a slight problem plugging in SATA cables due to a conflict with other things in my case, where a normal straight up mount wouldn't have been an issue at all. I can set it, get out and right back into that menu, and it's off again.
There might be a valid reason for that, but the manual didn't provide one that I could find. It depends on having a USB mouse.
