I expect it will be January And since these books are probably still being written and proofed, the datails may change before they come out. My CCNP cert is expiring Jun and i have decided to write the SISAS exam and i have been waiting since last year for the release of the official study guide which said January 5 for the ebook version, but it is now but it is now past that date and the ebook has not been released.
Now i am seeing a new date on the page saying it will be released in April.. What is going on!!!! This is really annoying.. Cisco Press is not Cisco - it is a Pearson company. They publish according to their priorities and perceived market value of the books. Their new certification guides are out before the old test are even discontinued. That said, no Cisco certification requires an OCG to pass - it's just one of several available tools to help in your studies.
We are going to be waiting a few months more from the looks of it. As has already been said, there are still many great resources out there. PEC is one that I can think of at least for some material. To help fill the gaps in the meantime, we're working hard to get everyone additional resources in the form of webinars and training videos. Yes please I'm also looking for a official guide. Rigo thanks for the update and links! Is there any particular order to take the NP Security tests in? I just assumed I should start with the lowest in the series. The conclusion I got from all of that was that - it's up to you.
Some people like to start with what they know best first in order to buiold confidence. Others like to get over the biggest challenge first and take what they are least familiar with. Others take what has the most material available to master a solid foundation before taking the exam.
Personally, I did the first approach and it worked fine for me - I completed the required exams and got the certifcation a couple of years ago.
